If you go to any investor that's been in the market a couple months minimum and tell them you got a stock with a 50% yield on cost they gonna look at you funny. Everyone knows the game doesn't work like that. Even MLPs and REITs aren't paying out half their share price in dividends unless the price drastically dropped in this crash.
that MFA stock dudes were hyping up in here, i bought 100 bucks. the dividend just went from 50% to 75%

something tells me thats too good to be true :skip:

It's unsustainable. If the stock share price falls so far they're paying out 50% of their share price in dividends the dividend is going to be cut or suspended. shyt Ford had like $34 billion in cash and short term investments on-hand and still suspended their dividend.

Nobody is looking at the income statement and balance sheet buying a company paying out a yield like that. Dividends come from earnings and unless their earnings per share is the whole damn share price they're either killing their cash reserves or funding the dividend with debt.

My strategy for tomorrow selling off my short term gains, holds on long term positions and if they get to a price I like add some more. Then I'll go back to my watchlist.

thats where I messed up. I should have just went with some short term gains. Took a risk. Put in 100 here, 100 there. As a beginner, I was just looking at throwing 1k onto on stock which I still plan to do at Boeing if they drop under but I could have made some quick money the past couple of days more than what I got now. Will see what it do for tomorrow.
