Folks forget how recent sharecropping was. Bobby rush is prob just between my grandparents & parents age.
My grandparents sharecropped in Arkansas before moving to Birmingham around the tail end of civilrights era.
Which means my ma and some of my aunts & uncles share cropped as well before moving to the city during their K-12 years.

Last time we had a family reunion up there they took us up to the land they share cropped on and everything ...my nephew took corn out some random dudes field

Confession: I have been saying "I aint studdin you" my whole life. I got it from my parents. But I have never heard this song till now and while I know what "studdin" means, at the same time I don't know what it means.
