I don't know about exact opposite....they were both strong, well-built guys who weren't good on the mic (although Lesnar was definitely better on the mic than Lashley). They both made a name for themselves on Smackdown. They even had the same initials.
I think Lashley would have been pushed harder and gotten over more if Lesnar hadn't come around first. Also, if he had a mouthpiece to get him over like Lesnar did, and if he had better feuds/opponents than fukkin' JBL and King Booker (meanwhile, Lesnar went over The Dwayne, Undertaker and Hogan). I also think that ECW run did him no favors....the only thing I remember from that was that overhyped spot where he went through the cage onto Umaga.
Not saying he would have gotten the WWE title (especially not as quick as Lesnar did), but he definitely would have been a serious #1 contender for that shyt quick.
When Lesnar first hit, everybody was like "
Damn, look at this monster.....and he can actually move, too".....then when Lashley hit, most nikkas was like "
Yeah, he aight....but he ain't no Lesnar". The whole 'Black Lesnar' thing just worked against him....just like how they were calling Mason Ryan 'Batistwo'. It's usually not good to be called a ripoff of a recent main eventer who's no longer around.

Bobby Lashley, for all his faults, still puts Ahmed Johnson to shame.

shyt was so terrible that year in 07, but I believe it still was WWE's most successful years in recent history since the end of the attitude era. I think they had the biggest quarter ever in WWE history that year, too bad that year was so terrible though

For no apparent reason, Book was feuding with Lawler for the feud until Summerslam. H really thought you gotta pay to see my return. lol I remember this big nose faggit H's entrance before the match at Summerslam, "We can rebuild him",
