Breh, your going about this battle the wrong way. Slandering an all time great just to be a contrarian wont bring forth the greatness of other artists.
Plus Bob is the one, not Peter Tosh, who really globalized the reggae sound and the rastafarian movement. I know of other reggae artists, but it doesnt make me mad that most people just know Robert Nesta Marley...he was THAT nikka.

How am I slandering him? Saying he's overrated is not directed to slander. That actually is proving my point. The simple fact that youre astonished by me calling him overrated is in fact overrating him as crazy as it sounds. I could say worse about Bob Marley my man. He was the furthest thing from a saint and he did some fukked up shyt. And yes I know of his impact but that does not mean he cant be overrated. People just say Marley is the Goat but I want people who were IN JAMAICA AT THE TIME MARLEY was popping off to tell me he was the goat. Rastas that were in Jamaica at the time, including my father always say how overhyped Bob was.
Something you guys fail to realize is the term overrated is not intended to sully someones name or discredit them but to show how balooned that person, place, or thing was. When I say Bob marley is overrated I'm not saying he was terrible or he didnt have great impact, Im saying people act like he was the god and he wasnt. Thats not even the Rasta outlook of it. No man goes above Jah and Selassie I is the closest to it. So even the most stan of reggae, Rastas, wouldnt put Marley as high as you dudes do, as you do with other things, driving that same hype machine but thats a subject for another time.

i wondered why so many white people actually like him when i'm sure they dont understand half of what he's saying. i did a quick wikipedia on him years ago and discovered ol boy was actually white. then i had one of thosemoments.

Iono know breh you took it to a different place than i was. I was just talking from a purely artistic standpoint. Was he the best rastafarian? I cant speak on that. I know rastas, but im not 100% knowledgeable of their lifestyles. But any man who was fukking as freely as Bob was (while married) cant be looked at as a saint. He treated every one of his children with love though, and Rita always supported and stood by him, as well as Cindy. He lived his life how he wanted and didnt let nobody tell him nothing. I got nothing but respect for Bob as a man and as a musician. I guess ill just leave it as that.
He had kids with white women , too.
