I thought her ass was dead as well. Took me a minute to even remember her cause she bores the shyt out of me. Once Jimmy died, I didn't really see the purpose of her being around except to be a foil to Rich.
And they broke the shyt out of Van Alden. At first they had you feeling like he deserved bad shyt to happen to him but he just can't catch a fukking break lol.
It took me a minute and then I was like

I'm glad they are moving into the Costa Nostra part of the story this season with Lansky and Luciano, Florida, and Cuba.
They really laid the ground work flawlessly the first 3 seasons and they executed Nucky's story really well since he is the least known but very influential in the early beginnings.

I'm pretty sure Chalky falling for her was Dr. Narcisse's plan from the beginning. I remember in Garvey's office after getting getting the dope connect from AR, he tells AR's boy he needs to get the girl from one of his clubs.

Gillian didn't od....she was just drugged up defenseless. Remember, fake Jimmy didn't OD either, she drowned him after drugging him.
I agree with Richard's arc being boring, but I have a feeling it's leading to him killing Gillian...I'll take it if that happens.
And I agree Van Alden 100%....hated him in AC, but he's been my favorite fictional character as Mueller.
Still hate Mickey, tho, he's a clown.

It should have been very obvious to me, but it took the Lansky and Nucky Florida land deal for me to realize that they are telling the story of the godfather of American organized crime.
who cares about that though. i dont want or expect nonstop violence every episode. i like gillians story so far. but i dont even remember who he killed in the first episode or what it was about. his character is so bland unless he's paired with another major character in the show

That's the best show out right now. Hands down. The way they build up characters and walk the history line is really impressive
Her name is Daughter but I saw a preview where they mentioned she was his daughter, but it could be a mistake.
actually, the timeline is technically around the time AR passes. Lansky is making bigger moves, Luciano too. Also Luciano was mentored by AR and when he passed he went to Masseria...in the show he left AR and went to Masseria which isn't historically true.
We'll have to see....the current season is 1924, AR doesn't get taken out until '28
was It just me or did they make AR look sickly and pale in the scenes we've seen him in? They really brought out his character flaw with the gambling in the previous episodes, which they didn't present him in such a state in the other seasons. That made me feel like this would be his last season but you're right about the timeline...
