Atlas - Engagement-Based Social Graph for Bluesky by Jaz (jaz.bsky.social)

Last thursday, it was 15M and today they at 19M. Growing up organically at 1M users a day ain't too bad.

I deleted my Twitter account once it was renamed and I was using it for professional purposes only. Bluesky sign up and use is way easier than Mastodon and the features are more fleshed out than Threads. Also Dorsey ain't on the board anymore :wow:

Made an account on Bluesky last week and it does feel very user-friendly. Still ain't much content for what I was following on Twitter but with that momentum, I feel it's coming ⏸️

how do people/orgs share their handles? is it something as simple as bluesky.com/liukang?

i want things to be as simple as possible because i'm giving people and businesses time but soon enough if you fukking with twitter, i ain't fukking with you.
The basic handle is @yourname.bsky.social . It doesn't look good to me but that's how it is.

Orgs can have custom domain instead of having the .bsky.social. And when they do that it also serves as verification. For example NYT's handle on bluesky is @nytimes.com

damn that sucks. it's their platform why are they making it so complicated? should be (at)username

even the orgs, nytimes shouldn't need the .com

For the default names, I agree. It's ugly maybe that'll improve some day. :manny:

For orgs, I think the .com can be important because you may have different entities. Maybe @nike.fr has different content @nike.com

I've had an account but just used the Chrome extension to migrate most of the accounts I follow on Twitter who are on BlueSky

I like it. Hopefully the popular accounts and sports get on there.

I joined. Only thing holding it back is that a lot of popular accounts haven’t migrated yet. The second they make it easy to migrate all your content and allow the same live audio discussion options this will be out of there.
In the biggest twist ever, Flavor Flav has become the unofficial celebrity ambassador and cheerleader for Blue Sky. He not only announces in his feed every time a celebrity joins, he's actively recruiting them to come over and it's working.

didn't think about that aspect with multinationals, makes complete sense.
