2)Most Met Fans thought they would never have a winning team again as long as the Wilpons was the owners, so why bother to watch? Then these nikkas started winning and had everybody like

Yeah I have a friend from Howard beach who's a fan and one of the managers at my job is too and they are in total shock that the mets made it. Never thought they'd see this until new ownership came around.

Word, can you blame us? we had the LONGEST playoff drought in North American professional sports. We weren't expecting playoffs especially failing the last 2 years.

Yankee fans are as much a fairweather fan base as any other team...When the team was winning divisions every year and WS the fans were there.
When they stunk it up in the 80s with Mel Hall and Booby Meecham they didnt show.

Its not a deflection to point out the blatant hypocrisy of yankee fans who historically dont show when there teams arent winning...yankee fanbase is as big of bandwagon as there is in pro sports...
