The difference between Maurizio and Sarunas is that Maurizio was a nepotism hire. Maurizio was brought in because he discovered Bargs. His teams won in Europe because he had rich ownership groups who were willing to buy players. Sarunas seems to have succeeded without having a deep roster. We'll see what happens.

I just realized the scouting department and the junior assistant coaches are mostly dudes he worked with from Basketball Without Borders and Giants of Africa: Patrick Mutombo, Patrick Engelbrecht (their head scout), Jama Mahaelala, Mike Akuboh (scout), Abel Nson (scout), and Harry Ezemibe (Raptors 905). Engelbrecht was the guy who discovered Bruno btw

I think he realized he wasnt the front runner for the head job here and thats all that was keeping him here...He was gonna either be the head coach here or be an assistant somewhere else...
