What happened to baseball games?

MLB’s exclusivity contract ended in 2012, so any company could make a game if they wanted to. Companies just don’t think it’s profitable to do so. 2K stopped making their baseball games, because the MLB licensing was so expensive and they were getting crushed in the marketplace by The Show (Even though it was a PS exclusive). EA has said recently that they’ve thought about getting back into making baseball games, but that would be years away even if it were to ever happen.

I love The Show series, but I miss the days of having multiple options. It was nice being able to alternate games when you got tired of one, but baseball games just aren’t as profitable anymore. The lane to make a game for XBOX is wide open, and nobody wants to do it because of the potential risk.
