All this talk about luxury white owned hotels and who does what for the movement is a destraction from the point of this thread.
What happened to Nate Parker was shameful. And any Black person that had a hand in it should be embarrassed. Nothing was accomplished. We didn't progress as a people. No lessons were taught or learned.
The only thing that happened is a rare powerful piece of Black art was diluted and dismissed.
It's not the end of the world because BOAN was not going to bring about some great liberation for the people. At the end of the day it was just a movie.
But it was a pathetic display from a group that themselves feels powerless, seazing the opportunity to become allies with white supremacy to take power away from someone else that looks like them.
As cliche as it sounds it was a clear example of divide and conquer.
Nate Parker's career is over, Casey Affleck's career is flourishing, our president is the p*ssy Grabber and Chief, and life goes on.
I hope we do better in the future and stop repeating the mistakes of the past.
