As a black woman, who is not a feminist, here's my take on the following:
  1. OJ - Per his own words, he is not black. Why do we care?
  2. Cosby - This was/is complete BS. Absolutely no evidence and Amerikka dragged his name through the mud.
  3. Ray Rice - He was definitely in the wrong. It is what it is.
  4. Greg Hardy - I don't know of this story
  5. Adrian Peterson - I still like AP...even though he was exposed as a major hoe. I believe in spankings & yes, AP may have went too far but that did not warrant a season suspension. His worse error was spreading his seed like water.
  6. Nate Parker - I didn't pay attention to the case. I don't care about him...he's just not on my radar. I also felt that he depicted white women as non racist (in BOAN) which is very far from the truth (both in the past & present)...but I digress.

Bill Cosby's wife is black and they still went after him. They attacked him because white daddy gave them the green light and wanted he crumbs flicked from the table

There were some black women that did, and still do, believe in Cosby's innocence. We were out-shouted on all fronts...including a sizable portion of black men.

Soooooo..........Is anybody waiting for @NYC Rebel to actually name some names of these Black Feminists he knows personally who are actually doing real work in real life?

The same goes for @Username who made this claim in another thread:

As far as most people are concerned, Shea Butter Twitter/Tumbler is the face of Black Feminism.
Name names? :mindblown:

Black feminists are all supposed to be known?

Last summer I worked with a Black feminist in bringing the spiritual leader of Yoruba, the ooni of Ife (my hometown) to Brooklyn and speak to members of the diaspora. We are working on bridging the gap between the diaspora. Yoruba (santaria, Lucumi, ets.) is the strongest surviving religion that survived the slave trade. She felt it was important that our King connected with the community here. Our next step is to work on re-starting our Ife Arts festival and start an exchange program bringing black artists from the U.S. and other parts of the diaspora to Nigeria and vice versa. That was the last project I was on with a black feminist.

I'm sorry...they're not evil. :heh:

One thing I realize is that i"m fortunate enough to be in proximity with people active in the community. Lots of west bubble fukk niqqas in here, shyt is foreign to them....so feminists are spooks!! LOL

Black feminist jumped in on Cosby (AND MANY MANY Black people) b/c he attacked Black women in that Pound Cake speech and many of his victims were Black women.

excerpts of Bill Cosby's comments on Black women in the Pound Cake Speech:
50 percent drop out rate, I'm telling you, and people in jail, and women having children by five, six different men. Under what excuse, I want somebody to love me, and as soon as you have it, you forget to parent. Grandmother, mother, and great grandmother in the same room, raising children, and the child knows nothing about love or respect of any one of the three of them (clapping). All this child knows is “gimme, gimme, gimme.” These people want to buy the friendship of a child....and the child couldn't care less. Those of us sitting out here who have gone on to some college or whatever we've done, we still fear our parents (clapping and laughter). And these people are not parenting. They're buying things for the kid. $500 sneakers, for what? They won't buy or spend $250 on Hooked on Phonics. (clapping)
Isn't it a sign of something when she's got her dress all the way up to the crack...and got all kinds of needles and things going through her body. What part of Africa did this come from? (laughter). We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans, they don't know a damned thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Shaligua, Mohammed and all that crap and all of them are in jail. (When we give these kinds names to our children, we give them the strength and inspiration in the meaning of those names. What's the point of giving them strong names if there is not parenting and values backing it up).
Brown Versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We've got to take the neighborhood back (clapping). We've got to go in there. Just forget telling your child to go to the Peace Corps. It's right around the corner. (laughter) It's standing on the corner. It can't speak English. It doesn't want to speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk. “Why you ain't where you is go, ra,” I don't know who these people are. And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk (laughter). Then I heard the father talk. This is all in the house.
Five or six different children, same woman, eight, ten different husbands or whatever, pretty soon you're going to have to have DNA cards so you can tell who you're making love to. You don't who this is. It might be your grandmother. (laughter) I'm telling you, they're young enough. Hey, you have a baby when you're twelve. Your baby turns thirteen and has a baby, how old are you? Huh? Grandmother. By the time you're twelve, you could have sex with your grandmother, you keep those numbers coming. I'm just predicting.

Y'all nikkas in here trying to re-write history:russ:
Half of the community turned on Cosby after that Pound Cake speech and I'm sure there were vigorous debates on Black discussion boards with people equally divided.

nikkas was like "Mr. Pudding pop, the one who lectured us is really a fukking rapist":ohhh:
That nikka that lectured us:gucci::usure:

A lotta Black people were like :hubie: "Let them white people save you"

Shea Butter twitter feminist considered this a two-fer:
1. Get in good with white daddy;
2. Get revenge.

Nate Parker didn't have any of that baggage he was acquitted over a decade ago by a rural white jury and married a white women...that's it.

We still have NO EVIDENCE that Cosby raped those women. Period.

And for the record, I watched the Pound Cake speech & read the snippets above. I still don't see any lies in what he said. This entire site, as well as many others, sh!t on women when they consistently make poor decisions that could have been avoided. How is Cosby saying anything different?

He blamed Black people for the condition of their neighborhoods and the break down of our family structure and specifically absolved white people of responsibility. He was dealing from the "We is our own worst problem" card deck.

We cannot blame white people. White people (clapping) .. white people don't live over there. They close up the shop early. The Korean ones still don't know us as well...they stay open 24 hours (laughter).

I understand where you are coming from. Our oppression is most definitely multi layered. But, we do not have to make things worse. Drop out rates, dwindling marriage rates & OOW kids, for example, statistically diminish our chances of upward mobility. We can change the trajectory of those things ourselves and I believe our community will greatly improve for the better if we did just that.

Now add that message from the lens of a 70+ year old man...of course its gonna come out in an insensitive manner. I will agree that Cosby may have ignored the complete structure of (institutionalized) racism, but at the same time, to many within our community are ignoring accountability. The sword cuts both ways.

Why nikkas even engage a feminist is beyond me :manny:

Like in any war, The enemy must be engaged else they stand a good chance of winning. Hitler partly came to rule the world precisely because his Nazi ideology went unchallenged for so long. The Nazis had theorized, developed and refined their ideology into exacting and irreductible science, which made killing everyone and everything they disagree with (including Africans and blacks) that much easier.

I don't think OOW rates in and of themselves "statistically diminish our chances of upward mobility". A black man can have several children OOW, run a business and make enough money to take care of them all. In fact OOW rates are the only reason black birth rate is so high. Without OOW black Americans would go the way of Native Americans and probably die out.

Whats the Zimmerman excuse?

Just because someone was found not guilty, doesnt mean they're not guilty. Like I said in my other post, I dont have an opinion about Nate Parker since the case was so long ago. But the "victim" seemed to be firm in her stance up until the day she died. I usually tend to believe the victim.

There's no firm evidence Nate Parker raped anyone and the court of law vindicated him. The girl involved was a foster child and a whore who had voluntary sex with Nate the very next morning of the "supposed rape". The case ends there. It doesn't matter that the girl died; she killed herself for the same reason so many foster children kill themselves. That is because foster children are usually mentally ill, have no family support, etc.

Ahhh

The old "Mike Vick is more hated than Ben Roethlisberger only because he's more popular and well known" argument..

Saw the same thing happen with Chris Brown vs Charlie Sheen and Cosby vs Woody Allen

It's funny how Black men are ALWAYS the most popular people on the planet when it comes to some criminal sh1t...

:jbhmm:

Facts. They bend the rules for black men to get the worst of every crime.
