Basically it's the album someone on TDE should have released in 2013. Jay Rock or Q. Right off the coat tails of GKMC, similar story but from a gangsta perspective...this is what a good label would have dropped back then. Instead TDE didn't do much of anything that year iirc lol...
Yup, you right. Come to think of it, I don't remember not a damn thing TDE did in 2013...

Them nikkaz was silent as church mouses that year :snoop:

The only thing notable, like always, is Kendrick and his Control verse stirring up some shyt. That plus the success of GKMC basically pushed him into stardom, now he doesn't need to worry about his fanbase.

Even tho Blank Face LP probably won't be as commercially successfully as Oxymoron, I have to put some respek on Q's name just based of the quality of his latest. :whew:
But Jay Rock and Soul?

How the fukk is Jay Rock gonna be like the OG TDE artist but not have no album between 2011 and 2015, well after his Money Trees hype died down? :martin:

Damn, Top Dawg :snoop:

Yup, that's my complaint. This thread is on some bitter, mean shyt. And more than that its tired and hackneyed. I mean who didn't know someone was going to use BFLP (which is crazy dope) to start shytting on TPAB all over again. As if we don't know that its a divisive album. Like I said, do we really have to do this again fam? Is this adding anything to anything?

Anyway I'm out this thread. Said my piece and I'll let yall cook
Both albums touch upon issues that plague the black community, and yet here you are avoiding discussion of them at all costs. :jbhmm:

Maybe you have more in common with Kendrick than you thought. :qpsmug:

I think enough time has passed for us to see the revelation as fact, gentlemen. Who would've thought after the jumbled mess that was Oxymoron, Schoolboy Q would go on to drop what might go down as one of, if not the best album TDE has ever produced? :wow:

This album deserves every bit of the Hellmann's scented critical acclaim Kendrick's last effort recieved. Here, Q drops a quality album that actually has replay value and doesn't have to get by with Macklemore-style vies at credibility. Q doesn't have to lure George Clinton into the studio with fresh acid tabs to be "funky." Q doesn't have white women on hooks singing about "massa take these chains off me!!!" Q can pay homage respect to a deceased man that influenced him without having a cringeworthy faux-interview at the end of his album.

Unfortunately, Blank Face will only see a quarter of that success if anything, but when is genuine quality truly recognized to begin with? :jbhmm:

Let's discuss. :isthatafact:

@Zero you're telling me Blank Face LP is actually worth a listen?

That Part > any track on Pimp The Hood. Maybe there's truth to what you're saying :ohhh:

I think there was some contract issue with Strange Music, Warner, and TDE that kept Jay Rock sidelined. But even if that's the case he should have released a damn mixtape in 2013. You gotta strike when the iron is hot. Especially coming off that Money Treesverse. Just terrible management brehs.

TBH they aren't doing Kendrick many favors either. Breh hasn't even had an official tour for his album. From what I understand they're planning a stadium tour with the entire TDE roster. With Q under performing sales wise and Flab Soul about to drop a bomb...is that a good idea? They prob gonna have to wait for Kendrick to drop a more mainstream album in 2017 lol.

All I want is a new Rashad project. And SZA.
