I am of the opinion he said this to ensure he doesn't burn bridges. Never know who is watching.

That said ... they are working under some of the most hostile conditions I can imagine for creativity. Not saying they do their job well, but I'm just saying their job is damn hard, I'm sure. Because they write to please Vince while hoping it makes for good TV instead of the other way around.

Another internet narrative talking point that has yet to be proven, for all we know he could have meant exactly what he said and until he says otherwise im not going to assume I know what its like to work there.

One thing he said tho was they basically write for both shows, which makes no sense, why are they so scared to let smackdown be different from raw?

You are free to google the stories and tales or tweets that former (and perhaps present) WWE writers have out there about how hard it is to write for the WWE as led by Vince McMahon; the schedule, the fact that they're micromanaged, or how they'll write a show well in advance only for it to be changed, a lot of times to the point where the show is written as it's going.

At the end of the day, WWE writers are asked to be creative. To be creative, that requires freedom. If you don't have freedom to come up with the best ideas, but instead have to put up the idea most likely to get approved, wouldn't that sap the creativity out of you? Considering how a lot of times, the shows just retread the same thing ... that indicates a lack of creativity.

Imagine asking an artist (painter, musician, etc.) that's really about their craft, to work under conditions to where it didn't matter if it was the best project they could put out so long as an executive -- who's said to be increasingly out of touch with the current climate -- green lit it. That would kill the passion.

Former WWE Writer Reveals What It's Like Backstage

Pretty good read. Worked with New Day, Lio Rush/Lashley,Braun,Riott Squad,Naomi. Just to name a few. Wanted to work with Sasha/Bayley and a few other women but :yeshrug:

Said Triple H was :heh: over the “Steiner Math” line

Cokeboy wanted to use the word handler instead of manager for Lio cause the word manger was out of date :mjpls:

Kevin Owens was like :whoa: while Vince was like :childplease: “what’s wrong with it, Hollywood actors have handlers all the time, what should we call it then?”

Enter Lio being called “The Hypeman”

“well goddamn he’s the hypeman then.”

Only one black writer and one woman on the writing staff is all i got from this and people are made expendable every month despite doing 'good work in their eyes"?:mjpls:

And they hire writers not based on their work but their twitter followers when they apply for other jobs in the company?:snoop:

Read Kazeem's interview ...

I'm skeptical. I'm sure there's some truth to it, but it felt like a ... that man ain't burning no bridges. And I understand that.
