Just came back from London from attending my cousin wedding. I was arguing with a couple of girls at the bar how Canadian and Americans we say water vs wata for the British. They lectured me how British English is the only correct English version and anything else is rubbishy as they like to say. I told them every time American government tells the British to jump, they say how high? Go to war in Irak, they go, bomb Libya, they do. Fight in Ukraine, UK says let’s go boss.

The modern British accent is nothing like the original British accent.

Matter of fact, Shakespeare probably sounded closer to us than he would like modern Brits.
