Some dudes in here doing the most, for real. However, there is a distinct difference between the fashions, the way women carried themselves, etc.
As bad as dudes are with bashing chicks, I think we all had our moments with how our generation is.

Seriously. Notice brehettes were svelte and wore their Sunday's Best even when poor, back when men didnt behave like boys and women (i.e. organizing, fighting and dying, circulating black dollars in house, etc ). It's amazing what these women endured and the type of systems that they were under and still looked like queens

I say that poor health is attributed to the tampering of food and crops since WW II (xbox live doesn't help). Notice how everyone had nice teeth and skin. Even the big women back in the day weren't on 10 different medications and seems like people age 65 below that plagued with issues (baby boomers and children during this error). My uncle said that old heads back in the day were like Joe Jackson, walking around healthy and talking shyt young people until they were 100 and people just died of old age, barely lingered or were crippled unless they were war veterans or something. My maternal great great gram was still gardening and stuff until age 93 and her husband was still strapping when he died at 80 something. Each generation gets weaker. Now people look in their 30s like white boys.

As much as I love me a curly haired zebra...the 60's and 70's had the growth of the consciousness and not just the hair. Many women (and men ) are hella cool with the armchair activism move.

I hate folks ask like hoe'ing didnt exist back then though. I will say the Fashion of the 50s-60s was better, but then again I prefer the prep/americana look in general.

Oh no, never would have claimed that. Hoeing was real It's like white people wishing for those "leave it to beaver" days when they were even doing dirt then. Just comparative speaking,the mindset of black men and women were a bit different, and the fashion in a lot of ways was superior.

It isn't better or worse than today, but you can see a shift in collective mindsets through pictures. I see it with my moms old family photo albums. Its subtle, but its real.
