since you callin me dumb you should be smart enough to know that miami could culturally not be considered the south, and that houston is the southwest, and that atlanta is such a gentrified city that it's logical to suggest that you immigrants stay isolated from most of the AAs there

Well my Parents are from Les Cayes/Jeremy/Camp-Perrin area in the South. I have people in my family that have married Notherners but not often.Can you please elaborate on how southern Haitians are different from the Northerns especially in the states...
All I knew was just the southerners had more mixed people than the north. How is the culture different? I am curious because I live in an area in NY with a significant Haitian population.
Nothern Haitians accents is also different even tho it's still kreyol. Their kreyol resembles the kreyol of Martiniquans and Guadeloupeans a bit more than Southern Haitians do. Some words are used up there that we dont use in the South. words like "kinanm" and many other common words are used heavily in Cap-Haitian and Gonaives but arent used anywhere south of Saint-Marc. Some words are pronounced differently too. Some words pronounced with "aL" ending in the south are pronounced with an "aY" ending in the north. I speak kreyol fluently but my cousins husband is from North Haiti and at times i have to think for a sec to understand everything he says.
Foods can vary too. Basically type of spices and starches consumed based on the region. Different fruits and categories of mangoes come from various parts
Remember that Haiti Quisqueya aka Hispanola is one of the larger islands. OUr half of the island alone is almost 3 times the size of Jamaica.
I definitely rather live in the islands than Alabama or :umadyardie:

Thus why i say some of you may be black and dont associate with whites but if you move t a foreign country and the only american around is some redneck white dude you will likely become best friends because they're the closest thing to home.
