It's funny. Before reading this I had a conversation with my parents as my dad was mad because my mom at not seeing anything wrong with Southern Whites flying the confederate flag stating it's their heritage and a free country and as long as they aren't lynching people, again, who care they are dying out anyway. Also if they censor them they will censor us.
My dad went on this long tirade about how she as an African American should be appalled as to which she responded that she doesn't care about the Confederate flag and honestly she doesn't give two ducks about the American flag; it's just hanging there to her and she never pledged allegiance in grade school. Was gifted a flag from a relative's military funeral and gave it away. I didn't realize so many black women were apathetic or indifferent to this country when they are the ones who seem to be making inroads. I think he ended up calling her an Anti American a$$hole the same sentiment during 911 she gave a "the chickens have come home to roost" type reaction. He forgot all about the confederate flag as his blood was boiling about stars and stripes.

the comments section is even more disgusting than the picture. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens calling her a ******, telling her to go back to Africa, saying she should be wiping her ass with her welfare checks instead, reminding her of how disappointed Martin Luther King would be, men saying they would want to beat her up and/or kill her, house negros saying people like her are the reason we're disrespected and oppressed...
I sure hope black people still don't believe a post racial society where we are treated fairly and not oppressed is a reality?
I hope we are mostly aware now that we need to focus almost exclusively on our own progression through love, education, group economics, and unity.
I never wanted to fully believe white supremacists can't be reasoned with, but I've come to accept this is just reality. We gotta keep it moving regardless.
