The word is the brotha been in the neighborhood for years. He looks out for everyone on the block and actually does neighborhood watch for the community. The word is the older brotha is taking it hard and feels that he is responsible for the young sista being killed.

Black africans in America are traumatized. We are literally hunted down murdered and there is little we can do about it. Oh great he is charged with murder. They will still give him bail as they won't view a cold murderer as a flight risk due to him being a cop, and 2 years from now a trial will take place and he will get less years than black folks who shoplifted. Then rinse and repeat

This inevitable outcome leads us to turn on one another. Every one of these cases it's always this segment of black folks who rather deflect from the actual crime and white racist murderer to argue all day about what it s differently the black victims could have done. Now they want to blame this brother for doing a normal thing. Black folks can't even do normal shyt without it ending in our deaths or getting the blame for a death. Smh.

They had ZERO leg to stand on. This was a non emergency wellness check. A gun should have never even been drawn. This guy was looking for action creeping around the house. He literally shot her through a window without even making out who or what he shot at. He didn’t even announce he was police. He broke so much procedure it’s truly astonishing. A wellness check is knock on door and if no one opens look around. This guy went straight to some fukkery.

Yeah shyt still ain't fair. But as I mentioened before these big cities been changing their tunes the last 5 years. They don't want the protestors or social unrest to fukk up their city. Plus all these killings getting these cities bad PR.

This sista being killed was the second thing mentioned on the national nightly news today (On ABC, CBS and NBC) after Syria.

Thats why they released the video so fast and the mayor was on out there at the press conference coping please. Plus the reason they threw little piggy in jail with murder charges.

We all know if this was 2014. That cop would be on paid leave and the mayor would have told the public go kick rocks. But times have changed after Ferguson, Baltimore, all them protest nation wide, the shootings in Dallas / Louisiana and folks voting these DAs out of office.

Its like how the government passed all them civil rights bills in 68 after the riots all across the nation after MLKs assassination.

Not sure brotha. But, I know folks hate to acknowledge any progress. But progress has been made on this stuff little by little the last 5 years. These cops are actually getting charged and getting jail time (of course not enough jail time).

So I am not reallly shocked that these big city cops saying they don't want that smoke. Especially with a city like forth worth and even dallas to a lesser extent that have a nice size black population.

I have also said tongue and cheek that jean and this sista being college educated professionals creates some pressure. Cause the optics look bad and which folks I think don't even acknowledge that they probably have life insurance with their employer. So someone has to cough up money for their death even before a civil trial.

Some years ago I made a joke to my wife that the one way we as black folks could stop these racist cops from killing us. Would be to put a 2 mill dollar term life policy on every black citizen. After they shot a few black folks them banks and insurance companies would come down so hard on these police forces that policies would be changed overnight.

Yep all this true and it causes us to think twice in a critical situation.

Check this out. This sista I know said one day when she was young. Her brother, sista were arguing. She says it got heated but nothing physical. She being the youngest tries to scare her brother and calls the cops.

The cops come to the home and she tells them that she was justing kidding to scare her brother. The cops don't believe her and place her brother on the ground and put and gun up to he head. Thankfully cooler heads prevail and the cops let him go and leave.

The sista was so traumatized by this act that she said her parents had to place her in therapy and that she never forgave herself for what she did to her brother. To this day she says she will never call the police unless its life and death situation.

I think you need to look at him like Gloria Allred. Not in a bad way like her but as a lawyer who ensures that your situation gets media attention to keep the heat on the police.

If you don't consistantly keep media attention on these crimes (yes they are crimes by these cops). Its easy for the shyt to stay out the public eye and get swept under the rug or the public stops paying attention.

So this brotha Lee Merit is necessary.

Hope so. But we will see. Arresting him, charging him even giving him time is good in all. But it ain't enough. This dude needs to do serious time in order to send a message.

Cops been getting time this year. Now its time to kick it up a notch. We need more than 7 to 10 to 14 years. We need more years for killing innocent black folks and none of that probation shyt either.

And I don't care if its a mistake. I can make a mistake and kill some folks with a car. They will still throw the book at my ass. I’m not praising them for doing and saying what they’re supposed to. I’m also not accepting their positioning until that cop is sitting in jail on a 25 to life. They can say what they want to appease, I’m not going for it. Action, accountability or nothing.
