yep stats usually just count those who file for unemployment, doesn't count the homeless, doesn't count "on call" workers, doesn't count part time workers working min wage getting like 15 hours a week

Hell once I found out a few years ago that the govt was lying about the inflation rate
Like how the hell you not gonna count food and energy
So the govt get's a serious side eye at any stats it puts out.

That is the thing man folks got integration and all they used that shyt was go shop at white folks stores and live in their neighborhoods.

My parents were both in the civil rights movement and told me that once integration happened sistas and brothas were like finally I can live and shop with the white folks. You had sistas that supported black owned stores for their clothes say fukk this I can go downtown and shop at the white folks stores.

You had brothas that would by their liquar at the black owned liquar store say fukk that I can go to the white neighborhood and buy the good beer.

Not to mention that many social programs that were started to help our communities out (such as how the government gave people like the conservative vice lords money for social programs) were ended by the government after a few years.

You had all these black business closing shop. As the black middle class said fukk it and left those communities.

Integration was a true transfer of wealth......the same is happening now when you look at HBCUs.

Seriously one of the greatest blunders blacks have made in this country

If they would have just sat down and thought it all through.. but they didn't and now

The black unemployment rate has been consistently about double the white unemployment rate for decades, regardless of the state of the economy. This isn't anything new.

Education doesn't close the gap either. It's basically a combination of hiring discrimination and geography.

I agreed, I own a business and I employ a lot of young Black talent. I even started grooming a protege to take on the business once I retire. But one of my biggest goals is to create training programs for young Blacks to learn media and technology, and I am in talks to buy a small supermarket that employs locals and gets fresh food to the people. But man battling the banks is uphill.

But in short, we have to game the system, save what we can, start businesses and support each other. This is not a quick fix and it gonna take a couple of generations and a change in mindset, but this is crucial to our survival.
