I guess I'm a hater... bout to go in.
While people shouldn't take social queues from celebrity behavior, it's a unfortunate reality that people do just that. I like Russell Wilson for what he represents, but he is legitimizing generalizations and negative stereotypes, that decent black men, would not like to be associated with. On the opposite side of the aisle, birds and ratchets are rejoicing everywhere because they think just because Ciara landed the "clean cut, rich square," means that every bird that had clear cut dating patterns/history of thugs and deadbeats is entitled to a "on - point man." Ciara isn't your average bird because she's famous, rich, and attractive, but that doesn't change her bird-behavior, which she vigorously defended up until the moment where she became a statistic.
Russell(and his family, it seems) are so thirsty for him to "come back home" that any black woman will do. For the record, I'm not bashing all black women or defending any of the BS that Russell had to deal with when he had his stable of white "Beckies." I wouldn't condone Russell dating a single white women with a child from a white deadbeat who had several other baby mommas in tow. I don't condone it when a black man does it for a black woman either. If he likes it, then I love it. Men of his stock (from any race) don't entertain single mothers, especially when the condition happens under the same circumstances as the Ciara situation). It's a little unsettling, and shocking perhaps, that his family is co-signing this relationship.
Black men are attacked for having/abiding by our standards and denigrated at the same time for not having standards!?!?!?!? There is no benefit for him, or black men collectively dating the average, unwed single mother. The agendas are already being staged. If Russell fukks Ciara over, you'll see the Black men ain't shyt" propaganda spun at warp speed. If he marries her, Black men are pathetic simps that date from the bottom of the barrel.
Lastly, fukk the OP.
