I worked security before disability got extremely worse and I never had to manhandled the homeless or mistreat them during a psychosis episode. I simply redirected, listened to them or gave them half of my sub sandwich cause they usually would raid the hotels trash cans.

Some of us simply lack compassion for other blacks when we get power.
Respectfully. You likely wasn’t on jobs that required much.

You can have compassion for mfs that look like you fine but our ppl sometimes take that compassion as a go ahead to do whatever they want to.

Dude look like he was put out for trespassing and got dealt with by some young and women security guards.

Naw. I was armed security. They don't give you a pistol and mandatory weapon training monthly for it, if the job doesn't require much.

I worked as a security police officer in downtown Detroit for 7 years, homeless people can be extremely difficult to deal with, especially when its cold outside. I never laid hands on any of them, but I understand why it can happen. I watched the video, its clear that these security officers were not trained properly, nor did they have any de-escalating skills. The homeless man is dead and the security officers will have to live with this incident for the rest of their lives. Very sad.

When some posters came at me for viewing security guards in the same manner as the police, now y'all get a sense of why that is...

I could never date a cop let alone a security guard...I don't get how some of y'all can sexualize the police, knowing how they are towards you especially when you're a Black man. I don't see the thrill, and frankly, I'm turned off by the thought.

I can't lay in bed with someone serving the white occupation :martin:.

Obviously, that comment was made in the context of potentially dating a female cop, but generally speaking, I view security guards in the same stratosphere as the police in that when you're a Black man, they see you're Black and start jumping to the same negative connotations as the police...security guards will do you dirty just like the police, no type of respect whatsoever.

as i grow older i understand why the elders would cringe when nikka became as common as "man". there is no endearment when you're choking someone out and saying nikka. that has just as much hate behind it as any non-black saying it while choking out a black man.
Fam the hate in buddy voice when he said that shyt

I implore everyone in here just for a day to have regular convo with your people, non serious or even serious disagreements about anything whether it’s music, sports, etc, and see what name they call you. Your actual name or the n word.

De-escalation is one of the first things, one of the primary building blocks for work in security. 90% of the veterans that you see in that field are the ones who are the best at communication, it's close to being a salesman. You have to be able to articulate and enforce your stance without ever having to physically come in contact with someone. If you're having to constantly lay hands on people, you're not really cut out for security.

Contrary to popular belief, the client doesn't want to deal with all the complications and possible litigation of having security actually come into contact with possible problems. They will cancel your contract quick as fukkk if you're constantly a source of issues and they seek out people who CAN deal with things without adding any unnecessary paperwork to their day-to-day operations.

These guards in the video, we're definitely not professionals. A security guard without a mouthpiece is a liability.

They gonna learn they not police real quick when the charges come. Imagine how different this encounter would have been if it was a white homeless woman.

Absolutely, Allied is notorious for being hell on anyone getting physical with anyone short of your life being endangered. Shiit, they'll tell you quick not to get yourself hurt or killed over client's property being damaged because Job 1 is getting home.

These security firms don't want to deal with trying to clear up confrontations when their contract exists to reduce them. These companies want you to be visible to deter shiit flaring up but other than that, you fade into the background. Cause too many problems and you will be replaced.
