At its essence I love the idea. However as others have stated it should be started at a local level first & build from there. We’ve seen too many plans taken off course tryna hit a home run off top. Her idea along with getting our people more informed on local politics would be major. Most Americans don’t know anything about their local politicians, unfortunately our people don’t have the margin for error to not be informed.

You should already be catering to what your community wants that’s how you get rich and justify value across many things.. you do things that pay for themselves.

What does our community—for that matter, ANY COMMUNITY— like/use?
Barbers, chicken spots, salons, gyms, corner stores, liquor stores, Chinese, sports bars

What do we/all communities need? things like doctors, life insurance, plumbers, AC Technicians, car mechanics, schools and teachers. Gas stations. Dentists, dermatologists, obgyns

Cant just be vibe lounges, credit repair, ballers and scammers, you need stuff that justifies people living in a space. You gotta do stuff that justifies a community. You gotta do stuff that’s valuable to any community. And then you make them convenient. Things that have value attract REAL capital and make people want to live somewhere. Do shyt that already works

This election taught us the following:

Funding from millionaires and billionaires doesn't matter. Democrats raised far more money and still lost.

Bringing up your opponent's insanity, bigotry, and crimes doesn't work. The media will just clean up his rants and statements to make him seem far more reasonable than he actually is.

Celebrity endorsements don't matter. Hollywood came together like the fukking avengers, and in one case literally the actors from the first movie jumped on a conference call to endorse. That shyt went nowhere.

Avoiding talking about race, gender etc. Didn't matter either. They still put out ads saying 'she's for they/them and he's for you'. They still claimed democrats are letting in cities worth of brown and black people in.

Also black capitalism has been tried and she's talking about segregation, which doesn't work either. She's still thinking about this from a capitalist framework. Capitalism is what got us into this mess with its boom-bust cycle. It doesn't help that black capitalists take the money the community gives them and then spends that money BACK in the white community because "the white man's ice is colder"

Build a coalition with other people who are black and in the same economic situation. Encourage unionization efforts, co-ops and alternative forms of doing business. We don't need a black bank, we need a black credit union. We need a black college of barbers who pay dues to support one another. We need a black fraternity/sorority of engineers who pay dues to the central body which pays for helping them get jobs, start their own businesses within the field and vet potential hires. We need a black sorority/fraternity of medical professionals who pay dues to the organization and can use the collected dues to hire lawyers for frivolous suits because that shyt is definitely coming if a black ob/gyn performs a medically necessary abortion in a red state.

Horizontal power NOT vertical is needed here. Black student organizations that share their resources to support each other in finding jobs post graduation and creating tutoring networks, black think tanks staffed by people who graduated from schools and were part of those organizations. That is how the white reactionaries took down the gains made by reconstruction, and that's what they did to usher the neoliberal hell that has led us to this point. They built power networks and those networks grew over time to the point where they've infested the media, wall street, tech, education, and of course politics.
