I understand. The reason I asked is because I tell all my clients to of course take advantage of what you can get for free. But our jobs can be here today, gone tomorrow. And in most cases, you lose the life insurance from your job if you’re no longer employed by them. You can get a million dollar policy for $30/$40.
Now everyone’s job isn’t the same. In some cases the job will let you keep the group policy but 99% of people don’t know if that’s an option. I just feel it’s always better to be in full control of a life insurance.
At the very least, I’m glad you have something. Because a lot of folks don’t even take advantage of the free stuff from their jobs.
