Here in Toronto( for the most part) all the pizza shops, pizza chains and pizzerias are ran by visible minorities unless of course its like an actual Italian or other white national Pizzeria but never black. We as black people were here before everyone else in Canada. How did we let everybody pass us with something as simple as pizza? Come to think of it, i dont think ive ever had a black delivery driver much less seen a nikka behind a counter of a Dominos.

Why are you on an American board talking about black ownership when that isn't a reality in this country? Black AMERICANS own pizza shops in Philly, DC, Baltimore, Cleveland, and other cities that are predominately black. The only predominately black city in Canada is Preston, Nova Scotia.
It's a novel idea but that requires loan approval, zoning approval, and several other factors tie in.
We already past that, pleighboi.

This is a very good thread.

One of the biggest expenses small businesses pay is worker’s wages. However, when you have an extended family willingly to help. Right there and then you have slashed your cost by half.

Now with a favourable rent agreement, you have a profitable business right there. The workers now have work experience with a great reference and it will help them leapfrog into a real career one day or open up their own place once.

Think about it. go to every spot with minorities in your city and theres an ethnic pizza spot. ive never seen a black pizza spot in my life. indians, hispanics, various other asians and all ensemble of whites make and sell pizza that we buy from them.

Pizza stores would create wealth, networking and a place to launder money in a lot of our communities.

Im just saying, it sounds absurd but its little things like this that put people ahead

Why not just raise capital and buy an existing successful pizza chain ?

Here are the issues I personally have with this

• High employee turnover
• food and safety standards
• low earning clientele

Acquiring/retaining customers isn't an issue because it's what I do
but if you are a breh with no business development skills

What will you do when a cac sets up across from you and poaches staff ?


I've had real italian pizza in Treviso, Italy but i'm no connoisseur
so maybe there are brehs who are complete foodies with a passion for this

Processed shyt. Sorry but we need to eat some fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Pizza will just put us in the ground quicker so I am not interested in slanging that shyt to my folks. Raw foods are life. We need some kale, tomatoes, yams, some snap peas, mushrooms and legumes. Some tradition w.african food would be nice too because this shyt THE MAN is feeding us is slow death on a platter. I am lucky to have so many organic and whole options from my local collective growing and trading patch to stores to my backyard but I know folks in the community may not have those options. I would be interesting in providing seed money to a non-profit business dedicated to starting and SUSTAINING grow ops on vacant lots in and around rough neighbourhoods but I am still 3-5 years away from that capital investment capability.
