It's just people celebrate their little steps first but they also get really prideful when they have a real accomplishment.

Most people are not building pyramids. Others build daily tools instead. Even if it's only in their minds.

Don't hate on it, reframe it as for what it is.
Instead, simplicity is their compliments.
Funny thing is, Even laziness has it's support.
Man don't get realer than that!

There are a lot of them for instance; things like championing fictional characters/movies as meaningful wins which does nothing in the long run but create a sense of false accomplishment :unimpressed:.

Stuff in that nature...

But who does this in real life?

i mean maybe in editorials about whatever piece of fiction do black writers “cheer for” the black fictional character. But I’ve never heard of two black people having a conversation bigging up a made up character :dahell:

Are u talking about shyt like

OJ walking free and nikkas thinking shyt would change?

Or like Black Panther movie which did billions change anything?
I still don't see how anyone could see this as a win. He didn't kill those people and lost millions in legal fees and a civil suit. Then he was unmercifully harassed until he got sent to prison for a decade on trumped up charges. During this time, people kept accusing him of being a murderer although he was exonerated.

It gets tiring. I feel you OP. Me and my grandmother were talking one day about Black people still having firsts a couple of years ago. Still being the first to ever do something that was previously lacking representation like us. It does feel good to see people that look like us doing these things, but at the same time it also makes me kind of sad, mad and frustrated. Like damn, this country and society's legacy of racism has been so extreme and has pushed us so far behind everyone else to the point that just now we are starting to appear in particular spaces. This is the stuff I could not discuss and won't discuss with non-black people cause they don't get it. They see these moral victories as a sign of progress or a sign that "racism is a thing of the past" when that couldn't be farther from the truth.

When Black Panther for instance came out there were black people claiming the fictional characters as real life individuals in history.

I feel you. I think our people celebrate those wins because we lack representation. So seeing our true selves, even in a fictional sense, can feel like a win
Also, too you have to think about how hard those black folks had to work to get recognized in those fields and to get those wins, mainly because we're dealing with the micro and macro levels of racism and discrimination as roadblocks.

That's why whenever I hear about a black man or black woman excelling in something we weren't being represented in I knew they had to work ten times harder than everybody else. That's just the way it is unfortunately, we don't have the connections or safety nets others have. So we have to work twice as hard to get half the result.
