If a black man has a business with majority black employees and start to assert ‘power’ or discriminate in his business against non black employees, would that be racist?

Technically speaking that’s ‘power’, is it not?
No because that business exist under the control of America which is a (White supramist power). That small business has very little power or control in the scheme of business in America. Showing a preference towards Black employees does zero damage to white America.

Not at all, Black folk don't have enough power, we get painted with a brush by default

Me myself? Naw. I don't go out of my way to associate with non-Blacks if i can help it, I treat individuals as individuals and the hobbies I'm involved with are diverse, my issues are with groups

Black people as a community/institution cannot impart racism on to other communities of people or individuals except other Black people.

Black People as individuals are capable of exhibiting prejudice towards communities and individuals based on their race INCLUDING other Black people.

So can Black people be racist? No. Can a Black person be racist? Yes.

There are different forms of racism from interpersonal to communal to institutional to systemic Racism.

Big dummies don’t care for the distinctions and think in for a penny in for a pound and that interpersonal racism (insults) is equivalent to systemic racism (second class citizenry) or that being a (Black) individual is representative of one’s race and therefore absolves all personal responsibility.

Even academics whose life’s work is studying and teaching these concepts fall prey to conflating these opposite ends of the spectrum.

Racism is defined as prejudice plus power.
Says who?
When you're talking about a popular, common-use term (as opposed to an academic term), you can't just dictate what the word means and insist that everyone agree with you.
They're just playing word games at this point.

Unilaterally redefine a word; wait for someone to use it "wrong"; then unleash some psuedo-intellectual nonsense that you read on Twitter or your buddy told you.
At least when people are redefining pronouns and asking me to call individuals "they", it's harmless.
But what's the goal of redefining racism? The intersection of racism and power is very important to recognize as a distinct thing, and we already have terminology around that like "systemic racism." You can't fix problems until you can clearly communicate about them.

But what's the point of draining the conversation of all nuance? How, for example, do we discuss racially driven behavior against minorities in countries where blacks are in power? What is the official racial power hierarchy that dictates who can be racist to who, when and where?
