I bet but let me rephrase my comment. If you're in the Tokyo area, they'll think all black people are Africans because 75% of Africans are on some other shyt up there. Down here in Yokosuka, the locals know that the city is kind of a mid Japanese city (which makes it an American 6/10), so any black people there are almost always U.S. military.

Generally speaking, Japanese people are passive aggressive, so the most that you MIGHT get is them staring at you.
Sounds like my experience in Paris, lol

But yea, I enjoyed my experience in Tokyo when I went. One of the few cities where I went out at night, and the sun came up and I was still on my way back home, lol. (Vegas, NYC, and Cancun are the only others)

dramatic title. I skimmed through it, he just saying don't act a fool in Japan because your black. That's generic advice though, because you can't really act a fool anywhere as a black person, so video seems a bit clickbaity

Are there any black Americans that act a fool in Japan?

That Somali dude was a goofball cracker. Black Americans don't act like that overseas.

To be honest, I dont think I spent enough time to observe that. The only other black people I saw were Africans, who were trying to advertise something, and then what I could only guess were overseas basketball players because of how tall they were any how many chains they were wearing

Nope! If 1,000 American black people go to a random country, but 10 decide to act a damn fool, they'd think that ALL of us were clowns:mjlol:.

A lot of Japanese think that all black people are Africans no matter how you look or dress, which means that that they'll be uncomfortable as hell until they hear you speak English.

Japan has a Black American following though?

No, most Black Americans seen abroad are assumed by the locals to be there for business or part of the US Military. Meanwhile Africans tend to be in these foreign countries to illegally immigrate or get into some shyt. Shinjuku is full of Africans, primarily Nigerians running scams for the Yakuza.

So, Black Americans tend to be more respected abroad due to being associated with America.

In my experience, no. The most that Black Americans normally do is act a fool with the nuisance content, but when it comes to knowingly and blatantly doing illegal shyt, we stray away from that because the Japanese prison system is nuts... except when it comes to sexual assaulting women:skip:.

Yezzir. Black Americans, by and large, love anime. That's what hooks the vast majority of us on Japanese culture. Don't get me wrong, they can be pretty blatantly racist [which is extremely rare], but that's everywhere we go, lol. At least in Japan, you don't run the risk of being gunned down at a convenience store or place of worship.

Edit: If you meant them following us, then also yes. I see a few people with dreads and everywhere I go.

I remember whenever that black marine got convicted for rape in the he mid 90s. Our command had the customary "indoc" meeting for all the newbies in Okinawa. Then basically a 2nd meeting for all us "dark green" Marines. They explained to us to just basically stay on base during that time.
