Maybe we should only post businesses that have online stores or have national presence, instead of local businesses that you can only visit if you are in the area

The local posts are for people that live in the area or people that visit. If someone was to visit a town they should know where the black owned buisnesses are because they typically aren't in the ideal tourist line of site locations as the white owned operations typically are.

Of course. Me and a few fellas in the area want to capitalize on that new stadium coming to Cobb. Just need capital.

What were you planning and how much capital are you talking about? I'm in Atlanta too and will be willing to invest if the idea sounds feasible.

not for nothing, but i love my black folks, so i got rid of the cac photographer i booked for my wedding a few months ago and hired my brother in law's homey from high school. partly cause around the same time that thread about supporting black business got started. he is a young up and coming photographer and actually good so i gave him a chance. gotta say im dissatisfied with that choice tho. i hired him and his boy. told them to dress classy for the wedding cause its gonna be formal, 1 dude showed up in timbs and jeans and the other had a button up and slacks which wasnt too bad, but he also wore a durag all night. there were moments thru the night where they both dissapeared when we wanted certain pics taken with certain fam. we asked one of them to ride in the limo with us to take some up close and personal shots and he refused so i canceled the idea altogether(worked out for the best cause her parents didnt have a ride to the reception so they rode with us). now, almost 4 months later, im still waiting on my prints. i got him on facebook and he spends all day posting stupid meme's and fights yet he's "working hard" on our pics daily. add to that he's hard to get on the phone. :stopitslime:

i will always support black and latino businesses and products, AS LONG as they are quality businesses and products. if not, :camby:

sorry i know ya wasnt trying to hear any negativity but i wanted to vent :shaq2:

I was at the grocery store yesterday and picked up 3 bars of NUBIAN HERITAGE soap
NBH-10600-11.jpg
. When i got to the crib and read the package I saw that the company was started by a few NY college graduates and was happy to see that they had gotten their product to the level it was on. There website http://www.nubianheritage.com/ doesnt contain much information on them but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume they are black and just bring some exposure to their products.

This soap is sold in Wholefoods, Wegmens, CVS and a few other spots listed on their website.

Used the soap today and it seems to be a decent product.

Let's use this thread to spread information on quality black owned stores and products (including where they can be purchased).

I stay copping this soap....also the goat milk joint...didn't know the company is black owned.......that goat milk soap be having a nikka skin :wow:

Something to do with taking advantage of the parking situation. I'm not sure how much the city can lock that down but my associate is a licensed security guard and we were exchanging ideas last week briefly about how to utilize/gain from the (upcoming) stores/restaurants/etc.

Funny you say that, cause me and my girls pops was talking about that same thing a few months back. We were gonna buy up some distressed property a few blocks away, hold onto it, then convert it to open parking later down the line.

This is the problem I have with Black-owned businesses, a lot of the owners or people involve either are shady or become shady after they start making money. By simply Googling Nubian Heritage, I came across this article of the founders:

http://nypost.com/2011/03/13/the-dough-must-go-on/

Shady, but I'm still down to support a Black business. We need more Black businesses to truly see wealth as a culture & community.
See why i support healthy skepticism?

Good find.

Im all for supporting black owned businesses, but if they lack integrity?:camby:

Yeah, but then you have to look through this thread for any businesses that may have been posted for the city you're visiting. That's fine if you want to do that, but I'm not gonna search this thread for local businesses whenever I am in a new city.
