that really the problem with horror in general in order for the story to happen it need the characters to do dumb shyt3 episodes in and I'm not feeling it so far. Feel like these dark twist ending rely too much on the main characters acting like idiots.
They were usually only 3 eps and much shorter lengthWhy these seasons so short now too?
Charlie Brooker pen ran outta ink he need to get some other writers
The seat push was insaneBeyond the Sea
Crazy. Murdered his colleague's wife remote from space in an exact replica of her husband because she rejected his advances despite being a better match. Hartnett fukking snapped.
Yeah me and my wife were watching it thinking the same thing. It’s more horror themed now. And horror is literally my favorite genre but that’s not what I fell in love with this series for and wish it would go back because it’s not as satisfying. Thought Beyond the Sea was the best episode between this season and last . But it wasn’t an enjoyable watch. Just a greatly written story and and well executed. Very haunting. But I forgot it was even black mirror for a sec with the family getting killed and all but lack of dystopian feel. Just horror outside the tech. Wanted to see something more creative than a horror story. Like More dystopian. Like all the episodes felt like it was back in the day almost or just current times. Even thought I appreciated the nuance and art of it. This one in particular was a Great episode still. But all the horror shot in general just made me forget I was even watching black mirror.New season is absolutely dog sh*t. Which is pretty on par for shows once they hit Netflix.
Completly lost the whole tech-dystopia mythos that made the show unique.
The psycho CaC mom stack of VHS and the clueless film students taping over them had all the nihilism technology apsect of Black Mirror; especially that reveal and bleak endingLoch Henry had zero to do with the concept of Black Mirror, wtf was that. Very predictable too. Joan is awful at least felt like black mirror, it was decent I guess. Last 10 minutes were great. So far based on these 2 eps, y'all way overhyped this season. Neither of those hold a candle to the first 4 seasons
No of course wasn’t just about sci-fi. People are more upset that the dystopian elements aren’t as prominent as they were in earlier seasons. That’s a fair criticism.I’m a huge horror movie nerd and that was a good episode, but I can’t lie that I miss a little how he incorporated that more in previous seasons despite still incorporating the technology aspectPeople are missing the forest for the trees, and expect sci-fi every episode. Black Mirror was never just about scifi. Demon 79 straight up felt like a 2020's Twilight Zone episode, and I love it for that.
