Honestly OP, I think someone has already stated that another race runs the larger fashion world, blacks have of course taken some successful stabs but really though......plus lets put this in a global perspective.....you don't think men in Senegal or Cameroon don't want to have the their best dashiki threads on as much as possible....or men in the Middle East don't want to rock the hottest and cleanest cultural gear or even a modern day long sleeve button up....
I see what your saying, but honestly I think it was more prevalent in the mid/late 90s.....never been one of the fashionist
os......for good or bad......probably missed out on many a chance of puss cause I've had a very individual style of dress in high school and college......it was almost Idaf, but not exactly.........as I've gotten older and see more lucidly the importance of dressing nice, but at the same time, I've never made men's fashion an important aspect of who I am, again, for better or worse....I'm not referring to a career or job dress that goes without saying to dress a higher level
I remember I was at a funeral a few months ago, and one of the people got on stage and remembered what a snazzy dresser this 60 something year old person was throughout his life.........
Your premise is that the "obsession is gay".....I think its more just trying to look their best, to put it simply........although I agree there way more important things happening in the world than a fresh pair of Jordan sneaker or this $400 pair of jeans..
