Actually when I'm in Toronto I notice the opposite. You guys are multi cultural but everybody sticks to their own kind. It's not like NYC where it isn't uncommon to see a group of different ethnicities hanging out.

your assessment is purely anecdotal but there is an element of truth to it ...

most ppl generally stick to their own. it's really the adventurous / curious cats that don't have a problem venturing into the unknown. like i'll tell you for sure that i never had asian friends up until recently (& Toronto is 40% asian!!). it's only when i met a couple of cool individuals that i realized that i was being ridiculous by assuming that all of them are prejudiced.

i still maintain that a majority are indeed prejudiced, but definitely not all of them.

the problem with folks is they have certain assumptions about ppl and this colors their experiences with them. it's really kind of sad tbh. imo, the ppl who primarily stick to their own kind are a cancer to the multi-ethnic / egalitarian society we are trying to build in Canada. when ppl draw lines in the sand and clump together this is a recipe for disaster.

:ohhh:

well, now your post makes sense lmfao. you left out a key piece of information. Hoes from York, brown or oterhwise, tend to be :ohlawd: than average.

i do want to bone a brown chick at some point though, i have a fetish for them. i'm far from being your stereotypical 'brother' though, which most girls tend to go for. i'm on the nerdy end of the spectrum. not sure if that will do me any favors.

breh...im nerdy as fukk :wow:. What school you go to?

but then again girls say i look mysterious, like i have a bad side to me and that I'm arrogant so it helps I guess. :manny: But yes...York girls are the baddest :ohlawd: probably cause its so easy to get in. There's another girl I should've been smashed (sri lankan) but my luck fukked my shyt up. One day I misread a signal...the other time I was helping a friend move :snoop:. Hasn't been the same after i missed the first couple opportunities. I'd show a pic but I'm tryna forget she exists

This is what I see when I go out there, the diversity in Toronto is somewhat of an illusion...nothing compared to how I grew up, especially in queens. We take shyt for granted in NY.

That is human nature, not a disaster. I have no problems with homogenous communities on a micro scale, forming a multi-ethnic nation at the macro level. Mixed, integrated societies don't work.

Also I gotta say some of you gotta get over this idea that every race has it out for you. Blacks and whites obsess over other races way more than the other way around, that's the truth.
But other races do have it out for black people that's the truth. Be ignorant brehs

we settle for multi-ethnic societies that are homogeneous at the micro scale and multi-ethnic at the macro scale because they are our only practical options at the moment not because they are better or perfect.

if we lived in a different universe where time wasn't a fixed dimension, white people were black, black people were white and human beings didn't separate themselves, having a fully integrated society would be the best option.

as much as we'd like to believe otherwise, human beings are incredibly intolerant. if we all looked & acted the same, we'd have better, more egalitarian societies than we do now.

And we would lose all the wonderful diversity to monoculture. Not sure that is better or more practical. I can go into Chinatown, which is homogenous, and enjoy their culture/community as a visitor. That is how I like it.

:manny:

i'm a realist not a nominalist. but you're right, each type of society has its advantages and disadvantages.
