I think this might mark the end of Black centered news on television.
Generally Black focused news programs get the most light during election years. A few short lived news/politics based shows made their debuts ahead of election years.
Shortly after the elections, viewers tuned out and the shows were cancelled.
I catch thegrio tv channel every now and then. Their news programming was set up like the old Jet magazine used to be. Accessible, covered soft news, entertainment, etc along with real news. They were trying to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, with hosts who already known by the general audience.
And despite all that, the audience was just not there .

The demand just isn't there. Sports and entertainment podcasts do very little advertising, but the demand for them is there, and consumers carve out time to listen/watch several of them.They weren’t advertising properly.

Yeah people are trying. Folk don’t want to watch it tho. The black news channel was one of the most daring because they literally had correspondents across the country doing news. I know a lot of folks that got let go though and that shyt sucked. I thought about applying one time, I’m glad I didn’t
