I said what I said because simply saying "this country" takes the blame away from the actual perpetrator. Cacs have their finger prints all over the scenes of this crime, so we shouldn't take that away.

@semtex if you can find Martin Delany's writings/books on slavery, he talks about this in detail...also, WPA slave narratives give insight and if you can stomach it, Ralph Ginzburg's 100 years of Lynchings will give you stories much worse than this and they were in the fukking newspapers...

As for WPA, it was the Works Progress Administration program during Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s. They gave former slaves interviews where they asked to recount their narrative going back to their childhood.
