It's impossible not to think about racism when you're black, even when you'd prefer not to. And I've been around all different kinds of white people enough to know how racist some can be. shyt, I've had white friends who told me about the kind of conversations a lot of white people have in private. And that's just the open, obvious racism. So I have no illusions of racism being remotely "over." But something about people wishing lynching on "******s" just because a black dude scores a goal in a hockey game or because a character in The Hunger Games is black is particularly chilling, man.

To be real, I tend to keep white people at a distance in my personal life, with a few notable exceptions.

Ironically...Black people had an ALL BLACK Hockey League before the NHL was founded.

Damn breh I've been a hockey head since a toddler and never heard of this league till now I guess the league was suppressed just like any other minorities on the come-up at that time

With this whole Subban situation I'm just glad he plays on the Habs and not on the Bruins. Quebec's basically the last blatantly racist spot in Canada, but they also really love their Habs, so siding with a black player here will hopefully push them into embracing colored people like the rest of Canada does

The cultural influence Subban is having is second to no other hockey player IMO

i said long ago that blacks played hockey before whites when everyone was saying its a cac racist sport.

Make no mistake: hockey is a racist cac sport. There have been select blacks who have played it, but that's true of virtually every sport on the planet. Blacks don't historically play hockey though. Blacks play summer sports.

That said, I will never support hockey nor anyone who plays it, ever. I will only ever support Subban and Simmons as individual nikkas trying to make it in this world. These hockey cacs will see not one minute or dime from me.
