Percy Lavon Julian
(April 11, 1899 – April 19, 1975) was an African American research chemist and a pioneer in the chemical synthesisof medicinal drugs from plants. He was the first to synthesize the natural product physostigmine, and a pioneer in the industrial large-scale chemical synthesis of the human hormones progesterone and testosterone from plant sterols such as stigmasterol and sitosterol. His work laid the foundation for the steroid drug industry's production of cortisone, other corticosteroids, and birth control pills.

Anna Johnson Julian (November 24, 1903 – July 3, 1994) was the first African-American woman awarded a PhD in sociology (1937) by the University of Pennsylvania, a civic activist, and fourth national president of Delta Sigma Theta. In the 1930s, Julian studied factors inhibiting children's education, and taught sociology at Miner Teachers College. Her doctoral work was an analysis of the case records of 100 families receiving income support. She was married to prominent chemist, Percy Lavon Julian, from 1935 to his death in 1975, and had three children. The couple faced down a violent and abusive campaign intimidation when they moved into an upscale home in Oak Park, Chicago, with attacks on their home, including two fire bombings. The Julians founded the Chicago Chapter of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Doris
"Dorie" Miller (October 12, 1919 – November 24, 1943) was a Cook Third Class[2]that the United States Navy noted for his bravery during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was the first African American to be awarded the Navy Cross, the third highest honor awarded by the US Navy at the time, after the Medal of Honor and the Navy Distinguished Service Medal. The Navy Cross now precedes the Navy Distinguished Service Medal. Miller's acts were heavily publicized in the black press, making him an iconic emblem of the war for black Americans. Nearly two years after Pearl Harbor, he was killed in actionwhen Liscome Bay was sunk by a Japanese submarine during the Battle of Makin.

John William Coltrane, also known as "Trane" (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967), was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes in jazz and was later at the forefront of free jazz. He led at least fifty recording sessions during his career, and appeared as a sideman on many albums by other musicians, including trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Thelonious Monk.

[October 6, 1929 -]

I, Neely Fuller, Jr., the writer/author of these books, like millions of others, have been a long-time Victim of and Servant to Racism (White Supremacy) in all areas of activity. My experiences, observations, and/or studies have led me to believe the following:

  • Racism has done more to promote non-justice than any other socio-material system known to have been produced or supported by the people of the known universe.
  • No major problem that exists between the people of the known universe can be eliminated, until Racism is eliminated.
  • The fear, frustration, malice, and confusion caused by Racism, retards or prevents all constructive activity between the people of the known universe.
  • The only form of functional Racism that exists among the people of the known universe is “White Supremacy.”
  • The people who have the ability to eliminate Racism, do not have the will to do so, and the people who have the will to do so, do not have the ability.
  • Regardless of all that has been said or done, the quality of the relationship between white people and black people is, and has been, a total disaster.
  • Justice is better than Racism.
  • As long as Racism exists, anything said or done by people that is not intended to help eliminate Racism and to help produce justice, is a waste of time and energy.
Each and every Victim of Racism should minimize the time and effort spent doing anything other than thinking, speaking, and acting in a manner that helps to eliminate Racism and helps to establish justice.

Each and every person should seek to do this every day, in every area of activity, including Economics, Education, Entertainment, Labor, Law, Politics, Religion, Sex, and War/Counter-War.

Thank you Mr. Neely Fuller Jr. for dedicating a large portion of your life, to help create some solutions in dismantling the system of white supremacy.
Thank you, for continuing to bring attention to how the system of white supremacy operates, and effects non-white peoples life. May your work live on.
