Because I personally think the more 'straight' allies like myself, the more of a push we can have to include these people into society without being discriminated. LGBT can still be discriminated against. Even though improvements have happened. Also, I'm doing this to finesse my way into a job because some of them have jobs, but most have hard times finding one.

So you're not actually volunteering out of the goodness of your heart. At the core of it, you're just looking to be gay for pay?


Edit: Misread your post. It actually sounds like you're saying that you're gay and want folks like yourself to be less discriminated against when it comes to employment opportunities.
