I went to a magnet school that used to bus kids from alll over the city, but we were still 70% black. One of the top performing schools in the state. Majority of my teachers were black. Even had black male teachers, which is a rarity. Assistant principal was white, but my principal was a black lady. Which was some boss shyt to see as a young black girl.

We used to sing the black national anthem before every assembly. Had a step team, that exposed us to frat and sorority life. Drama club use to put on black plays like a Rasin in the Sun and Lion King. Dance team did a lot of gospel dance routines.

Man I left that school feeling like I could take over the world.

Breh, this is a Catholic school. They are some of the most historically prejudiced and mean spirited people in the world. Also nothing they do comes from anywhere. Me! Our principal was black, vice principal was Bobbi Seale’s sister, and my counselor was black.

I went to school with mainly cacs.

I was suspended, but I deserved it.

my mom was telling me how her church just spent 300k to remodel their kitchen. i wish all these black churches put their own money together and opened up black grade schools.
