The frats made up of predominantly white guys don't get nearly as much attention. And I hardly ever hear a white guy who has graduated saying, "Yeah, I'm gonna chill w/ my old frat brothers or have a frat reunion or some shyt."

It's seems as if they leave that behind at college for the most part.

Matter fact, can't say I have met a white male since college that ever mentioned his fraternity or displayed/wore apparel, accessories.

:ohhh:

its white dudes at my job who take that shyt serious

No Not at all. But the majority of that culture is deeply ingrained in homosexuality.

Im not sure if you're in one, but you're a very cool brother. So I know not every dude in a fraternity is gay. But black fraternities as a whole aren't forward progression, no matter what the build up is. Lets break some of it down:

For 1: They fashion themselves "Greeks". And although the white man is a homosexual from birth, it was the "Greeks" that championed homosexuality first. they didn't care about the social ramifications. They just wanted to plow ass regularly and in public for the world to see. Why would you associate yourself with that?

2, Even with the "greek" thing, you're straying away from your own cultural identity which means self hatred.

3, the self hatred becomes greater because these "societies" only do for self and have a way of of ostracizing those that aren't "down" with them. Making them have a superiority complex.

Now among these academic frats and "black honor societies" , look around and point out the number of them with white wives (also a form of homosexuality, more on that later).

Black fraternities are more of a detriment than help. Maybe thats what I shoulda named this thread.

Thank you for your concern, Brother. if you are in one of these homosexual theme parks, I would hope you get something out of it besides AIDS and utilize your networks to do something positive for those that look like you. I know you're not a fakkit, though. So peace be with you.

naw i aint in one, i like that breakdown though...that was some real shyt, kinda put some things into perspective

but it is most def some real cats in those frats tho, not only just that, ive seen them do alot of shyt for the community

i would say a bigger problem is the way in which they let the clown dudes in these frats represent them...but you not the first person i heard question that they be on some gay shyt lol

I found a pretty good article regarding Black Greek Fraternities. Here's a quick excerpt regarding the self hate.

This writer can re-call a very recent experience he had at one of the Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) with an African American college student who he had just witnessed was a part of a “Black Greek” Probate ceremony (this is a public ceremonial and festive tradition where the neophytes who had endured the pledging process and had so-called crossed over the hot burning sands, is presented to the general public as a newly made fraternal brother or sorority sister, and has earned the right, as a recognized member of these various “Black Greek” Societies where these new pledges may put on step shows and other activities, upon completion of the probate they are ordinarily showered with gifts and congratulatory wishes) and this brother who had just pledged one of the Black Greek Lettered Fraternities and I said to him, “peace African”. He became upset and angry that I had called him African as opposed to calling him Greek, but I saw this same student moments later and someone said, “ what's up newly pledge Greek” and this young man responded more favorably. The movie “Stomp the Yard” gave us somewhat a look into Black Greek Fraternity and Sorority life and culture. For example, stepping may not resonate with white Greek Fraternities but it is big with Black Greek Fraternities and Sororities, it is an intricate part of character of these societies.

Cool. I've never witnessed it.

Encounter a lot of white males in past and current professions. Might be more of a fresh-out-of-school thing, but I primarily encounter white males over 25. Never hear a peep about frats from that demographic.

When we're out for leisure, there are no frat shirts worn. No grand displays of "brotherhood." Nothing. Nothing. I'ma start asking as part of conversation, but it's really just for a little informal research.

Because I know some of these older white guys had to be in a frat in school, but, for whatever reason, they just don't wear it on their sleeves as black frat members do after graduation. That's my theory.
