But it never made any logical sense from the beginning, because there's black people that get sick from the flu all the time. And spreading the idea that we're immune is irresponsible at best and extremely dangerous at worst. The last thing we need is people not being careful and ending up in the hospital because they were going off misinformation. This isn't a game.
If we tend to be more resistant to this virus, that's one thing... It's another thing entirely if we were immune.
Exactly. If there really is a genetic/cultural advantage then keep taking the same precautions as everyone else and thank the Lord that you ain't getting sick.
The people who are fukking shyt up are the ones trying to fool folk into not taking precautions thinking they "immune" or "resistant", exposing themselves to MORE risk for no damn reason at all and wiping away any potential advantage there was. And exposing their loved ones and the Black community to more risk at the same time.
I thought it was common knowledge that anyone can get CV. I also thought that it was known that a few Black athletes gor CV and some other Black folks somewhere overseas caught it.
But, perhaps more Black people have it, but is severely underreported...
I don't believe anyone believes that Black people are immune to this virus. But, I do believe that Black people, who are healthy, have stronger immune systems than non-Blacks.
There were a number of trolls including one mod pushing the "Black folk are immune" or "Black folk might get it but they won't die" bullshyt on TLR. Some of them might have been serious.
Black folk as a whole have the most diverse genome in the world, that's a sign of genetic strength. But every other environmental factor working against the community. If you got pollution in your area, poor diet, stress, poor health care, anything, that makes you more susceptible to all sorts of shyt.
