Singapore is located at a water-borne crossroads for ships going East-West from East Asia (ex. China) and South Asia (ex. India)

Relatively speaking, Jamaica's location isn't really relevant. If you want to ship to America, you can just ship to Baltimore, New York, New Orleans and bypass Jamaica. If you want to sail to the Pacific, go through Panama and once again bypass Jamaica.

Jamaica could be a lot better off, but it's geographic location didn't help it - unlike Singapore.

Again 16x bigger and half the citizens.

Jamaica is one of the biggest islands and the MOST culturally relevant. Way more relevant than Singapore is currently.

The only major difference is the fact that Jamaica’s best and brightest are doing their damndest to get off their island while Asians best and brightest are trying to find away to move TO Singapore.
