It's very sad that over the years the image of the Black feminist has become almost a parody. It's like they all have the same qualities.

Middle-Class Background
Hair Wrap/Natural Hair
Has a White Boyfriend/Husband
And the prevailing excuse is 'Well there just aren't enough Black men at my level' which is only half true because I see middle class brothers in every metropolitan city. I'd rather they just be honest and say, 'Black men aren't at my level and most are in no position to provide me the lifestyle I feel I'm entitled to, so I'm crossing over' to have a seat at HIS table and eat. While this won't protect me from racism in the grand scheme of things, and I'm no longer building within the community to make my former people better, I still feel my degrees and blogs make me qualified to make comment on Black issues that I have willingly chosen to divorce myself from.
