Black Excellence alert! First time in history 2 black Senators to serve!

None of them was elected.
We've only had THREE elected senators since Reconstruction: Edward Brooke, Carol Moseley Braun and Obama... (Brooke and Braun served only one term)
Also, we've only had TWO elected governors: Doug Wilder (1989!) and Deval Patrick
Statewide elections are simply out of reach for black politicians. It just shows you how remarkable and unlikely Obama's presidential wins are

You can pretty much count ALL minorities in the history of the senate with your fingers and toes...plus 4. Bottom line is that this shyt is just sad. Excellence or not the tinting of the Senate is long overdue.

At the end of the day... I would much rather have a white senator that takes my interests into consideration when he makes his decisions than a black one that's thinking about how fat his wallet will be when his term is up.... Just saying.
