I just noticed that this is an 80's reference. The cartoon is definitely much sloppier with the "anachronisms" than the movie was. Kurtis should have said "Black Belt Jones" or something else from the 70s.

The movie was so accurate that I knew people who really thought it was a "rediscovered" old blaxploitaiton movie.

I wish we could've gotten a Jim Brown & Fred Williamson reference, but them acknowledging Melvin Van Peebles and the hypocrisy of Bill Cosby was hilarious. There has not been 1 bad episode in this series so far except maybe the Elvis episode from season 1.

The ironic thing is that Bill Cosby helped Melvin finance Badasss

This episode had me immediately searching youtube for clips from The Wiz. Since then, I've had this song stuck in my head, and they didn't even try to parody it on the show:


They should have done something with this instead of "If I only has some balls".
