I think we should've been more specific. Some dudes are a lot funnier on film than in stand ups, and vica versa.

For example, Mike Epps was drop dead funny in Next Friday, but his stand ups are snooze feasts.

black comedy, like black music, has lost its soul. it's become a business and new hustle instead of an artform. there used to be a time that black comedy was infused with the black experience, where the stories of black struggle were darkly humorous and made even white people laugh. no longer can we see comics of the same comedic stature as richard pryor and dikk gregory and eddie murphy and others who knew how to make you laugh while making a point. it's been reduced to crude jokes about black women filled with foul language and not much humor. it's sad that i find white comedy far superior to black comedy nowadays.

The problem with Chris Rock is hes not really funny at all.... Off the top of my head all of his movies (sans CB4) suck ass... His stand ups are more informative than hilarious.. I find myself more :ohhh: than :russ:.... His intended comedy kinda falls flat tho :ld:
