When we were kids (10-13) community centers used to have dances for kids, it was like a right of passage for us. You go, everyone is shy so everyone teases each other to go ask a girl to dance, we get made fun of but eventually we does it. The girls shy too and we awkwardly dance.
It's these little interactions young people have to go through growing up so they don't become weirdos in their adulthood.

These young men really need mentors. He likely has few if positive Black men he can look up to because he isn't bad looking he just needs up his self care routine, maybe do a few pushups and lifts and go from there.
I think also Gen Z don't interact with each other face to face they don't get the chance to make mistakes and learn and build.
