Yeah. A lot of the early Greek culture comes from black people the Minoan civilization in particular which either was black or a direct succession from a black civilization. Even the monster Medusa was a black woman she's from Libya.

Got all three volumes of Martin Bernal's The Black Athena and The Black Athena responds (which is a response to his critics). Ive only read the first volume though. The first volume is worth the read if you're interested in how classical scholarship developed alongside notions of race. Europeans in the 17th-19th centuries basically constructed a history that showed them in a positive light and back-projected a bunch of nonsense on ancient peoples.

The thing that made me finally turn into this fully was the notion that at the founding of the USA and early western modern philosophy, they were ALL IN on Egyptology etc... They were taking the culture and the rituals and especially the architecture... then they started adopting Greece. Its like... wait what happened? Why the flip? It was clearly a conscious flip under way.
