“Like my nephew wanted to grow dreadlocks. I’m like fine, I’ll sit you down and I’ll watch ‘The First 48′ with you and everybody you see on that show, that’s doing something wrong, they’re black dudes with dreadlocks. So, do you want to be seen as part of the problem or do you want to be an individual?”

“Let’s just say you have locks and you walking down the street,” says Mackie. “The police pull you over and say you fit the description of somebody. You start yelling and arguing with the cops. Next thing you know you pressed up against the wall going to jail for something you’re not even involved in just because you look like somebody and you don’t know how to handle yourself.

Damn Falcon.. :why:

what a fukking c00n. These idiots forgot black people were getting lynched, beaten and discriminated against in business casual attire with clean cuts? This c00n needs to get punched in the face.

bu bu I have my own preference in fashion :sas2: and women

Stop using terms like white supremacist and racist because most of us wrongly connect certain behaviors of a "typical" racist and white supremacist. So once a white person smiles, conversate, fawking, lauhging with, getting along with black folks, we rule them as not being possibly a racist and or white supremacist. But we could accept a black person possbly being shady and untrustworthy while doing all the same things above

Anthony Mackie is a #newblack and I have just tuned out his opinion on race.

This article is disturbing because this Black man feels that he has to dress and behave a certain way and he thinks it will protect him from undue scrutiny in the eyes of White Supremacy. It won't. No matter how we dress or behave we will always be seen as dangerous, thugs, or just less than. All things being equal. I'm not going to call this man a c00n nor do I find his thinking humorous, it's just another victim of the Stockholm syndrome we have as a people.

I will say this though that would be kind of a cool protest idea, if Black men dressed up like prep school kids and yuppies and asks the question, now what do you see or something like that.

But there is a larger point to be made, we can't ignore the fact that perception is 90% of reality and that we need to continue to fight to regain control of our image. Every group in America has this except us and this one of the things we need to lobby for, and why we need to really gave a greater presence In the media landscape.

Negativity (Kayfabe)
“It’s black men catering to the external expectations to present themselves as respectable and more so human,” he explains. “Once we convey that we are human, then there’s an opportunity for a relationship and not one that is based upon who is dominant and who is subservient.”

If this is your personal choice. Cool. But, don't spew this bullshyt about dressing like a slave improves race relations.

If I legitimately felt the need to wear a suit every day to stop my police murder, I'd move.
