Chemical and Biomolecular Engineer Prof. Lynden A. Archer. Archer was the Centennial Engineer Award winner, the 2014 Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum Award winner for his contributions to the advancement of nanoscience in chemical engineering and won the Career Award from the National Science Foundation. He's the founder of NOHM's Technologies, which specializes in Lithium Batteries.

He's also an inventor and received a patent 4yrs ago:

Carbon Coated Anode Materials
Application number: 20110300447
Abstract: Nano-colloids of near monodisperse, carbon-coated SnO2 nano-colloids. There are also carbon-coated SnO2 nanoparticles. There are also SnO2/carbon composite hollow spheres as well as an anode of a Li-ion battery having the nano-colloids. There is also a method for synthesizing SnO2 nano-colloids. There are also coaxial SnO2@carbon hollow nanospheres, a method for making coaxial SnO2@carbon hollow nanospheres and an anode of a Li— ion battery formed from the coaxial SnO2@-carbon hollow nanospheres.
Type: Application
Filed: November 18, 2009
Issued: December 8, 2011
Assignee: CORNELL UNIVERSITY
Inventor: Lynden A. Archer

Dr. Marlon S. Thomas, awarded a U.S. patent for his development of a new method to quickly identify bacteria strains by using chemical dyes and fluorescent assays. The invention will allow healthcare workers to quickly identify major health risks caused by bacterial infections. His procedure requires no equipment or electricity so it can be used anywhere.

First African-American chemistry Ph.D. honored with landmark during Black History Month

SEB_Photo.jpg

St. Elmo Brady, the first African-American to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry, is being honored by the American Chemical Society (ACS) with a National Historic Chemical Landmark. The designation will be celebrated on Feb. 5 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which awarded Brady his doctorate in 1916. The event coincides with February’s Black History Month.

“This landmark designation recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and leadership impact that Dr. Brady has had on the chemical profession,” says ACS Immediate Past President Peter K. Dorhout, Ph.D., an alumnus who will present the university with a bronze plaque about Brady at the designation ceremony. “I am proud to be an alumnus of the university that was part of his legacy — dreaming, designing and executing the creation of four outstanding and impactful chemistry programs that have each worked to ensure access to higher education and the chemical professions for so many young African-American men and women over the last century.”

“Brady’s most enduring legacy involves his efforts to enhance and create undergraduate curricula, graduate programs and fundraising efforts at four historically black colleges and universities: Fisk University, Tuskegee University, Howard University and Tougaloo College,” says Jonathan Sweedler, Ph.D., director of the university’s School of Chemical Sciences. Each of those campuses will host a celebration of Brady’s achievements and mount a plaque in his honor.

Brady was born in 1884 in Louisville, Kentucky. After earning a bachelor’s degree at Fisk in 1908, he taught for four years at Tuskegee and then earned his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois. He returned to Tuskegee to teach for four years, then continued his career at Howard and Fisk — where he served as chair of the chemistry departments — and at Tougaloo. Brady died in 1966. Additional information about his life and achievements can be found at www.acs.org/bradylandmark.

I'm African but this is a powerful thread

:salute:

AAs survived 400+ years away from the motherland....suffered unspeakable horrors at the hands of the white man but still here :wow:

Thank you for paving the way for the rest of us :blessed:

My parents are from Africa, but I support the hell out of this thread.

The progenitors of nearly all modern music and dance

You guys got a lot to be proud of :salute:.

Good peoples.

Some of ya'll might think i'm a hater but I'm not.

I know this is minor since it's just food but you mofos invented cornbread. American cuisine has never been high on my food rankings but that's my shyt right there! :blessed:

Back when we had support from non-ADOS :mjcry:
Some of you are just extra sensitive to any observation or criticism by others WHILE you do the same about others :rudy:
I may not see eye to eye with all "AADOS" viewpoints but doesnt mean i dont support. Different people will have different outlooks on life and NO i dont fukking have to approve everything you do. I just have to accept and sometimes respect it. I'm a firm believer that the worldwide black revolution that needs to happen worldwide will be lead by AADOS because you have been in the belly of the beast and have access to better educations and resources than any other blacks and therefore bound to flourish...if you can get out of your own way/head.
Where i disagree with you all is that said revolution will not be without violence. Some say it's because i'm Haitian but I dont believe in revolution without violence. Protests, hashtags and courtrooms can only get you so far and is not where we're gonna win this fight against white supremacy.

Trust me I often wish i could share some of my deepest thoughts on the matter with yo all on here but i dont wanna land on someCIA/NSA/DHS watchlist.
My closest "AADOS" friends know and mostly agree with me so i dont need the coli clones to validate. Hell some of them lurk here and tell me i need to stop taking you clones so seriously :laff:
