Do you even follow the sport? Henderson got hurt, they offered the fight on 8 days notice to all the available 205 guys to save the card. They all declined. Chael stepped up and took the fight. It's not about whether he deserves shyt. Dude isn't training for a fight at all but accepted a fight with Jon fukkin Jones on 8 days notice. But then jones who is completely ready to fight says no. Do y'all not recognize how much of a fukkin G u have to be to take a fight with somebody like Bones on 8 days notice when u aren't training for a fight at all and all your recent fights have been at 185? Its not a random opponent. Henderson is Sonnens teammate/mentor they have been training together their whole careers. And Bones is so much better than this dude he should be the one that could take that fight in 8 days notice and kill it. Dude would have something like a foot or more reach advantage in the fight and he knows how to use the shyt.

That's true regardless if it's 8 days notice or if Sonnen was coming into the fight having did a full training camp. The thing is Jones is the champ, the most dominant fighter in the UFC turned down a fight against a guy comparable to his original opponent on 8 days notice. Sonnen would have NEVER gotten this shot any other way, all the good fighters were unavailable for this fight so Sonnen makes sense if you are trying to save the main event which means saving the overall card from cancellation. Alot of tickets were sold that now need to be refunded aswell as sponsorships. The whole card relied on his fight.

I still dont see why they canceled the entire fight card. Why not just have the ppv then throw in a random fight? They could sell it half price and still recoup something instead they cancel the whole card and blame it all on the black guy. The same black guy that everybody and they mother knows would have stomped sonnens fvcking face in for a round or two and got an easy win. Jon probably wanted to actually fight someone and not beat up a tomato can in a glorified exhibition match.

I look at it from both points of view. If Jones takes the fights and loses then everything he worked for has gone down the drain and peeps would be like he shouldn't have took the fight on short notice. But at the same time he took a payday out of alot of peoples plate. He was in a no win situation either way.
Theres a lot of company men in this thread. Bisping took the fight with 8 days notice as well, but guess what? No title was on the line, he had no big time endorsements, he wasnt the face of the UFC and to top it off, he lost! That dude is delusional. When you at the top, the hate gonna come from everywhere.

And it was a bs decision ..but that's what happens when you leave it to the judges
Jon Jones is not the face of UFC .. Right now it's Gsp and Silva...he's third on the list among current champs

This just shows how weak the card was...Its not Bone's fault, its Dana white for putting together a bullshyt event with one good fight at the end. That tells me a lot abt Dana's confidence in his own roster of fighters...its pretty much non-existent at the moment. The fighters should be mad at Dana not bones lol
