I know myself, the fans are very passionate and have long memories. I can see it already: 'Chicken Bones Jones! This is the UFC, not KFC!' And the fans are right. Why is Jones avoiding Sonnen? Didn't he see that ass whooping Silva hit him with. Sonnen should be a lay up for Jones. I'm shocked Dana White isn't doing more to force Jones' hand since this tarnishes his rep of making all the "dream" fights happen unlike boxing. Which he loves to point out.

Exactly! He loses and loses bad, he might hang for the 1st round and maybe even the 2nd but that's it. Sonnen is even at a greater disadvantage since he wasn't really training for a particular fight so would need to make weight and this is short notice for him and he still took the fight. I don't get why Jones wouldn't serve up Cheal real quick.

^his first fight with Silva he dominated the whole fight, got caught in a submission the last minute of the last round. He was seconds away from beating the pound for pound best fighter. Meh.. CACs cant let it go

Exactly. I got a problem with random fans and especially media types complaining about fighters making power moves, but I really don't have a problem when actual fighters are complaining about other fighters for what they perceive to be ducking or cowardly behavior. And, yeah, Jones is protecting his own brand which is what he is most beholden to, but at the same time he's fukking up money for everybody else, which isn't something he needs to be concerned about but nobody can be mad at those dudes for getting pissed about it.

Well, it's not like Sonnen was supposed to be the guy all along. First dude gets hurt, second option is flying to Brazil, he calls up Sonnen who at the very least we all know isn't going to duck anybody or turn down a fight.

That's the card after this canceled one though. Jones was supposed to fight next Saturday. We've already seen Bones handled Machida so nothing new there, I'm always up to seeing Cheal get bodied plus didn't Jones did say he would love to hurt Sonnen for mouthing off but you get the chance with all the risk on an unprepared Sonnen and you pass?


This shyt ain't comparable to Bron or Floyd because their power moves had meaning and made sense even if haters did hate. What is Jones proving with this decision?
